The Super Sonic Samba School was founded in San Diego,
California in 1990. Since that time, the band has become a fixture in the Southern California and Northern Baja
California areas, performing at parades, festivals, weddings, clubs, grassroots demonstrations, corporate mixers,
schools, parties and special events.
The group plays traditional Brazilian Samba rhythms, featuring live percussionists and dancers.
The Super Sonic Samba School performs a range of styles: from the Rio de Janeiro carnaval marching drums
of Samba Enredo, to the jamming Samba Reggae of Bahia and the northeast.
The Super Sonic Samba School is a non-profit community service organization. And we have a lot of fun! |

The Super Sonic Samba School practices every Sunday in Balboa Park, San Diego.
Since we are a samba school, anyone can join us; our samba classes are open to the public,
and we welcome new performers. We meet in Pepper Grove, just north of the Centro Cultural de la Raza on Park
Blvd.
